JACK SAVORETTI lyrics - Before The Storm

Lifetime

Original and similar lyrics
We will all say goodbye But that's alright Happens to everyone The "alright" part is a lie But that's alright We tell it to everyone If you feel like you're wasting your time Waste it if you want to The reason does not have to rhyme Waste it if you want to There's only so much you can do in one lifetime Take it easy There's only so much you can do in one lifetime Oh, take it easy Now the sun is bound to go down But that’s alright It happens every night Tomorrow it comes back around But that’s ok It happens everyday If you feel like you're wasting your time Waste it if you want to The reason does not have to rhyme Waste it if you want to There's only so much you can do in one lifetime Take it easy There's only too much you can do in one lifetime Oh, take it easy Waste it if you want [x3] There's only so much you can do in one lifetime Take it easy There's only too much you can do in one lifetime Oh, take it easy There's only so much you can do in one lifetime Take it easy There's only too much you can do in one lifetime Oh, take it easy Take it easy Oh, take it easy

got a badge upon my chest i'm a cut above the rest so i can tell you what to do got my regimental hat got my by the good book chat so i can tell you where to go i've got a job to do and i'm telling you i intend to do it well it's easy when you know how got my smart uniform and my duty to perform so i don't care you who you are i'm the only one who can spoil your fun with one shake of the head it's easy when you know how, know way know where and know today know mercy, know time know reason, know rhyme know how i can tell you i'm the law with my medals from the war so don't tell me what to do with my narrow point of view though i know you're probably right, i guess it's still not easy saying yes it's easy when you know how, know way know where and know today know mercy, know time know reason, know rhyme know how

Man On A Mission

RICHARD ASHCROFT "Human Conditions"
Man On A Mission Hey, I heard you'd run away But where you gonna run? You got such a pretty face, and the world's a small, small place 'Cos when you're running on your own You know you ain't like a rolling stone Because a stone will find it's place And when you hear this space Just crawl and never run And when you're work is done Then you'll see the sun So sing what you want I'm a man on a mission No time to love, no time to be wasting I wanna know if you feel above him All the things you do that just make yourself feel undone, feel undone Blues, I heard you caught the blues And what was it they said Have you got out of bed, have you got out of that? I know a headspace that you don't I will - you cannot and you don't A fortune has been made on all the illness they made And then we've got to pay for the drugs to take it away And then you're going to find there's nothing in your mind That you don't already know, that you ain't already seen Do you live in a dream? Sing your song, and don't you cause trouble Man on a mission there's a man in a bubble but I wanna know if you feel above him All the things you do that just make yourself feel undone, feel undone Sing your song, and don't you cause trouble Man on a mission there's a man in a bubble and Play your cards, throw your dice You get a piece of land and a piece of advice No time to be wasting there's no time to be wasted No time to be wasting there's no time to get wasted No time to be wasting always time to get wasted No time to be wasting there's no time to get wasted There's always time to get wasted (There's no time to waste) There's always time to get wasted (There's no time to waste) There's always time to get wasted (There's no time to waste) There's always time to get wasted (There's no time to waste) There's always time to get wasted (No time to waste) There's always time to get wasted (No time to waste) They've got me wasting time (No time to waste) Got me wasting time (No time to waste) They got me wasting time (No time to waste) Got me wasting time (No time to waste)

I'm Alright

JAKE MILLER "Spotlight"
Today I met a man, sittin' on the corner He was holdin' out his hand, had a couple quarters That he saved up in a can, I think i heard him whisper that you'll never understand Damn, no place to call his home said he lives alone so he's forced to roam With a shopping cart filled to the top with every thing he owns A smile on his face, yep there he stood He was holdin' up sign sayin' life is good Man, I wonder what it'd be like, a day in his shoes I guess when you got nothin', you got nothin' to lose He said boy, don't you pity me, I'm still standin' tall As a matter of fact, I got it all I got life, I got love I got faith and that's enough We feel sorrow, we feel pain But there's sunshine after rain So I'm alright (you'll be fine, take it one day at time) So I'm alright (said you'll be fine, take it one day at time) Today I met a man makes a couple hundred grand Always stressin' out got 2 cell phones in his hand Lives the country club life, think he's on his 3rd wife Never makes it home for dinner cause he's workin' every night 5 cars in the garage, 4 he's never drivin' Always wantin' more than just the life that he's been given Gotta strange obsession with material possessions Now he's always poppin' Prozac to battle his depression He's got everything he's ever wanted, and he's always tryin' to flaunt it But now it's all comin' back to haunt him Mistaken want's important in life for all the pointless stuff For some people, everything's just not enough I got life, I got love I got faith and that's enough We feel sorrow, we feel pain But there's sunshine after rain So I'm alright (you'll be fine, take it one day at time) So I'm alright (said you'll be fine, take it one day at time) You gotta keep goin', never give it up You only live once, might as well live it up Every breath I take is a reason to believe That the finest things in life, came to me for free Said you gotta keep goin', never give it up You only live once, might as well live it up Every breath I take is a reason to believe That the finest things in life, came to me for free I got life, I got love I got faith and that's enough We feel sorrow, we feel pain But there's sunshine after rain So I'm alright (you'll be fine, take it one day at time) So I'm alright (said you'll be fine, take it one day at time) Yeah, you got, nothing to lose, haha

Steven

JAKE MILLER "The Road Less Traveled"
Yeah, look Let me tell you about a kid named Steven He's slowly running out of things to believe in Every couple of months his mom leaves him, for no good reason his step-dad beats him Not too many friends, only ever had a few of them, but recently they don't want anything to do with him Always eating lunch in the bathroom stall, he just wants to feel normal and be cool again, yeah Always feeling like the outcast, he's been going crazy ever since his dad passed He needs guidance and advice but instead he only has breakdowns and flashbacks of the car crash uh It's been getting harder everyday, if he was still around everything would be OK 'Cause his dad was always the light at the end of the tunnel, but now that same damn tunnel is looking dark and grey He keeps quiet in the back of the class and when the bell rings Steven hurries home fast scared to death the other kids will kick his ass on the long walk home 'Cause its happened in the past so He's getting used to the black eyes and fat lips but all he's got is a fake smile and cut wrists Wishin' he could walk right up to them and show them the scars and say look you're the reason that I've done this Maybe they would finally understand and go back to how it was before it all began But he's just a little different so they taunt him and they beat him Yeah it's all just fun and games, they don't give a damn, yeah His older brother ain't around, in and out of jail, hanging with the wrong crowd He's been doing coke, smoking weed, getting drunk all his life he's a shame no, he's not too proud Now his habits are rubbing off on his little bro yeah, but guess what? Little did he know that every time he did a line, every time he lit a joint, every time he took a shot he would set the mode, So Steven's sitting in his room getting high now Doors locked, music up, with his lights out He just takes another toke til his room fills with smoke 5-6-7 hours til he knocks out Now he started stealing pills from his mom 8-9-10 at a time and now they're gone and maybe for a moment all his problems seem to fade, but the high fades too after not too long and that's when it really sinks in and that's when it hits him that these god damn drugs won't fix him Curled up on the floor, can't take it anymore Now he's talking to God 'cause he's the only one that gets him On his knees, looking up, can't stop crying "God I know we haven't talked in a long time but this time I really need you. Please God help me, say something just give me a sign, because now I'm falling apart and I don't think that I can do it. Please God, give me the strength to pull through it. Tell me, Should I give up? I could end it all right now. I just don't know if I'm brave enough to do it. 'Cause there's gotta be a better way than suicide. Try to wait it out, give it time, you'll be fine. But it's been so long and I still haven't been able to get rid of all the thoughts that I feel inside. So sick, so angry, so mad and to top it off no one even knows that" That's when he stood up, wiped his tears, walked over to his desk and got a pen and a notepad He just couldn't see it getting any better So on a cold dark night in December, Steven knew exactly what he had to do But first he sat down and wrote a couple letters One to his step-dad, one to his mother, couple to the kids at school, one to his brother Bringing them the pain that they once brought him tear drops on the paper one after another Yeah, I hope that you all feel guilty. 'Cause I'm broken now and you can't heal me And now you're all an accomplice in murder each and every one of you has chipped in to kill me So the reason that I'm writing you this evening, is to say goodbye and to tell you that I'm leaving But don't hold your breath 'cause I ain't never coming back Sincerely yours, Steven
