Third Quarter Storm

Original and similar lyrics
Medium strength People go home Quietly they leave There’s nothing to see Nothing for you to see around here Feelings be gone Clear skies from the storm Now numb alone The people go home, go home, go home Flourish be calm, be calm on your own Lay down, lay down, lay down Breath in the air Don’t care don’t care Cause Christ knows we’ve paid Cause Christ knows we’ve paid Shadows of flames everywhere from the fight Now scorn all lost The people don’t know, don’t know, don’t know Proliferate times ten and again and again Lay down, lay down, lay down Take it away No cares, no cares Cause Christ knows we’ve paid Cause Christ knows we’ve paid

People

End
People, people, everywhere, and all their brains did shrink, people, people, everywhere, and not one did think. Having fun and playing games, and makinjg noise and losing face, and reading crap and living and doing work and talking, and going but not really living. And no one cares or thinks, or knows but say they do, and think they do and want to. And little kids parade by and people say Oh how cute and the kids don't know and they really don't care, and they are trying to be older while everyone else wants to be younger. Richard Simmons is on tv, and people laugh and say how I hate him but when everybody likes it they do too. And everyone looks the same, but says they're different, but want to fit in and wish everybody liked them but say they don't care so that everybody will. They get in and wait for their germs and pay their parents' money to buy things their parents wouldn't want them eating. Then they say this isn't worth it but they stay anyway even when they could be improving the world but sit and talk and say nothing and no one cares except them what they think. Then they get out and say I'm glad that's over but then they come back to visit because it was the most fun they ever had except it's what you make of it and so they decide to make it the most fun they ever had so they can grow up saying why isn't my life like that? and then they realize you turn into your parents.

What's It All About

ANDY MINEO "Formerly Known"
You know, when I look around at everything it just Blows my mind to think, "where'd this all come from?" So I got some questions, like yo... What's it all about? Why are we here? If there's no reason, why do I care? A lot of people put they thoughts in my ear But I gotta know for myself, So yo God, are you really there? What's it all about? Why are we here? If there's no reason, why do I care? A lot of people put they thoughts in my ear But I gotta know for myself, So yo God, are you really there? Man I'mma seek the truth til my brain hurt, I'm just another soul My life's like a sand grain in the dirt, If we was made for a greater role Than just living to die What's the answer? I gots to know why I don't want just another nice job and a ride 'Cause plenty people got that and wind up committin suicide So I really don't care bout the physical 'Cause I know some know some millionaires that's miserable My search goes deeper now, I'm asking more people Like "whats the meaning of life for us creatures?" The response I keep hearing back, "Love, Live, Laugh" Man I already found that on a t-shirt Some people wanna get tweaked, like philosophy class They smoke riefer, drop acid, pop liberty caps, but thats misery Within itself, no up or down, right or left, so I guess you're left living right Man that's crazy, I'm searching for an absolute, No vodka, I just wanna grasp the truth 'cause if I don't then, Yo what a waste I might as well dig a hole in my grave They keep telling me... Yo God, are you really there? Yo God, are you really there?

Minority Report

JAY-Z "Kingdom Come"
[Intro: News Excerpts] The damage here along the gulf coast is catastrophic. There's a frantic effort under way tonight to find survivors. There are an uncounted number of the dead tonight... People are being forced to live like animals... We are desperate... No one says the federal government is doing a good job.. And hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people... No water, I fought my country for years.. We need help, we really need help.. In Baghdad, they they drop, they air drop water, food to people..why cant they do that to their own people? The same idiots that can't get water into a major American city in less than three days are trying to win a war... [Verse 1 - Jay-Z] People was poor before the hurricane came But the down pour poured is like when Mary J. sang Every day it rains, so every day the pain But ignored them, and showed em the risk was to blame For life is a chain, cause and effected Niggas off the chain because they affected It's a dirty game so whatever is effective From weed to selling kane, gotta put that in effect Wouldn't you loot, if you didn't have the loot? Baby needed food and you stuck on the roof Helicopter swooped down just to get a scoop Through his telescopic lens but he didn't scoop you The next five days, no help ensued They called you a refugee because you seek refuge The commander-in-chief just flew by Did he stop? No, he had a couple seats Just proved jet blue he's not Jet flew by the spot What if he ran out of jet fuel and just dropped hu,That woulda been something to watch Helicopters doing fly-bys to take a couple of shots Couple of portraits then ignored 'em He'd be just another bush surrounded by a couple orchids Poor kids just 'cause they were poor kids Left 'em on they porches same old story in New Orleans Silly rappers, because we got a couple Porches MTV stopped by to film our fortresses We forget the unfortunate Sure I ponied up a mill, but I didn't give my time So in reality I didn't give a dime, or a damn I just put my monies in the hands of the same people that left my people stranded Nothin' but a bandit Left them folks abandoned Damn, that money that we gave was just a band-aid Can't say we better off than we was before In synopsis this is my minority report Can't say we better off than we was before In synopsis this is my minority report [Verse 2 - Ne-Yo] So many times I'm, covering my eyes Peeking through my fingers Tryin' to hide my, frustration at the way that we treat (Seems like we don't even care) Turn on the TV, seein' the pain Sayin' such a shame Then tryin' to go on with my life Of that, I too, am guilty (Seems like we don't even care) So we send a lil' money, tell 'em it's alright To be able to sleep at night You will pay that price While some of these folks' lost their whole life (Seems like we don't even care) Now it wasn't on the nightly news no more Suddenly it didn't matter to you no more In the end almost nothing changed What the hell, what was that for? (Seems like we don't even care) [Outro: News Excerpts] ...Buses are on the way to take those people from New Orleans to Houston ...They lyin' ...People are dying at the convention center ...Their government has failed them ...George Bush doesn't care about black people

The Christmas Spirit

JOHNNY CASH "The Christmas Spirit"
Praises sing to Christ the King And peace to men on earth On Christmas Eve I dreamed I traveled all around the earth And in my dream I saw and heard the ways the different people Hail the king whose star shone in the east and what a dream it was In London Town I walked around Piccadilly Circus A mass of people movin' here and there, I wondered where On every face at every place was, "Hurry up, I'm late" But a kind old man at a chestnut stand said, "Merry Christmas mate" And I felt the Christmas spirit In a little town nestled down in Bavaria Germany I walked along to see what the feeling there would be And here again was the busy din, the rushin', the yellin' But some kind boy said, "Frohliche Weihnachten" Not understanding the words but gettin' the buyin' and sellin' I felt the Christmas spirit In Bethlehem I heard a hymn, some distant choir sang And with other tourists I walked along to a Church as its bells rang Then I heard someone tell someone, "There's where Christ was born" I wonder if He looked like our baby looked on that first morn And then I really felt the Christmas spirit From a businessman in the Holy Land at a sidewalk souvenirshop I bought a little Bible since I'd already stopped And it was in Paris France somehow by chance that I took the Bible out As I flipped the pages I saw these words And I knew what it was all about For I read, "Fear not for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy Which shall be to all people For unto you He was born this day in the City of David, a Saviour Which is Christ the Lord" Then I took the little Holy Book, held it close and tight I closed my eyes and visualized the glory of that night So suddenly it came to me for when I awoke on Christmas Day I felt the Christmas spirit down deep inside to stay O little town of Bethlehem how still we see Thee lie Above Thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by Yet in Thy dark streets shineth the everlasting light The hopes and fears of all the years are met in Thee tonight
